Academy looks forward to 50th Anniversary

February 11, 2014 • • in News

academyThe St. Lucia SDA Academy officially opened its doors in September 1964.  2014 ushers in the golden jubilee, and we are going big for the celebration!  A number of activities are being planned leading up to the 50th anniversary.  Among these activities is a grand concert planned for April 27, 2014.  Alumni, current students, and friends are invited to participate in the dramatization for the concert.

Commemorative t-shirts are on sale at the Academy and at the Mission office.  Please contribute generously to this venture as all proceeds go to the Academy. The 50th Anniversary celebrations will culminate with a grand home coming of Alumni and Friends from July 17 – 27, 2014.  All past students of the SDA Academy are invited. We want this to be the mother of all reunions– the one we have been waiting for. Let us make it happen!

Plan your vacation early so you can be part of the celebrations. For those who live abroad, we encourage you to book your flight as early as possible. Let us share the word with all past student that we know or are able to contact. Let us use our Facebook page and all other social media platforms to promote this home coming in support of our Alma Marta.

We are hoping to climax the celebrations with the dedication of a new wing for the Academy along with the ground-breaking ceremony for a second wing. This is a move of faith.  Together we can make it happen.

We have not seen the funds to build, but we are working on the designs of the new wing and we hope to break ground soon. We are moving by faith. This means we need you to start contributing now to building this first phase of the reconstruction of the Academy and also to plan a big donation for July 2014 towards the second phase. It is time for us to give back to our Alma Marta; time to give the next generation of SDA students a state-of-art facility. Together we can do it! Together we will!
