Saint Lucia SDA Academy In The Top Ten for CXC Results!

Thirty-nine (39) students from the Saint Lucia Seventh-day Adventist Academy sat this year’s CXC examination among the tens of thousands region-wide, and the thousands island-wide from 24 secondary schools.
This year would be no different. With results out, the Saint Lucia Seventh-day Adventist Academy placed 10th at the just concluded 2019 May/June Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Exam (CSEC) with a pass rate of 73.5%, the national mean at 76.85%.

According to Ms Jacinta Berthier, principal of the school, “Teachers are excellent in working with the students and would go the extra mile.” She said that God continues to work with the teachers and students considering all the challenges.
Pastor Roger Stephen, President of the Saint Lucia Mission of SDA and chairman of the school board said that they are happy that they are featured in the top ten and they thank God in spite of the challenges. They are still happy the Lord pulled them through. The hope is that the school will surpass that ranking come next year. According to the president, “The Acting Education Director Pastor Lucius Philip comes to the table with many plans to improve the overall morale of the institution, so the best days are yet ahead.” He went on to commend his efforts thus far.

It continues to produce students and graduates who reflect Christ’s excellent character, cultivate a culture of academic rigour and give competent service to God and man in preparation for eternity. The SDA Academy was established in September 1964. It presently has an enrolment of 167 students.
